DONATIONS
TO HELP SUPPORT
THOSE WITH CHRONIC ILLNESS
Thank
you for your interest in making a donation to our ministry.
With one in three people living with a chronic condition
and an estimated 130 million in chronic pain, in the United
States, "...the harvest is plentiful but the workers are
few." (Matthew 9:37).
Most of the
people Rest Ministries serves are currently having financial difficulties,
due to the severity of their illness. Your
donation will enable us to:
Reach out to people who are hurting, physically and emotionally. We
offer hope through Jesus Christ through our heart-warming, yet realistic(!)
resources that address living with
a chronic condition.
Continue
to teach awareness to churches
about the effects of invisible chronic illness, how to support
a person, what to say and not say, how to make the church
"chronic illness friendly," etc.
Continue
to exhibit at church leadership training seminars and chronic
illness/pain conferences so that there is an increased awareness
of the support that we offer.
Grow!
As the only ministry who promises to "walk the chronic
illness journey" with you, we are greatly needed. So many
people are hurting and looking for the cures in other areas,
including New Age medicine.
Says
Lisa, our founder, "When speaking with Joni
Eareckson Tada, she said, 'The work you are doing is very
important and not many other are doing it.' On those days
I am feel discontented, I remember her words and how right
she is. We are very needed. This is bigger than any of us.
Only God knows how many people are hurting and need a friend
beside them."
Offer
additional programs and resources. We have planned for the
future: additional support for caregivers
and spouses, educational scholarships for a young person
with a chronic illness, more Bible
studies, outreach to children [of chronically ill parent/s
and children with chronic illness] and much, much more!
