 Description

God is always near, but sometimes we aren't able to feel his presence. Through an honest, in-depth look at her own life, Dr. Beverly Rose finds those thin places where the barriers between us and God are nearly transparent. Dr. Rose explores the phenomenon of "thin places"--experiences in which the dividing line between this world and the next seems to dissolve in an intense awareness of the presence of God. She grounds her exploration in the Bible, alongside her own reflections on the Old Testament views of her Jewish heritage and the incarnation of Jesus in her life as a Christian.

“Imagine a place between seashore and sea, earth and sky, here and now and heaven to come—a place where the veil between this life and the next is so thin you can almost touch the very hand of God.”

Have you ever longed to feel the closeness of God, to really know him deeply and intimately, but felt as if he’s never been farther away? Author Beverly Rose says that God is much closer than we think, waiting for us in the “thin places” of life.

Growing up in a Jewish home, Beverly sought God’s presence in the rituals and traditions of Judaism. As a Harvard staff psychologist, Dr. Rose pursued affirmation and acceptance through her credentials. But only when she nearly lost everything did she discover the thinnest place of all and find her heart’s true home in Jesus Christ.

In So Close, I Can Feel God’s Breath, Beverly Rose unlocks the mysteries of God’s thin places—what they are and where they can be found. She reveals a God who breathes into our lives and hearts in miraculous ways, beckoning us to grasp the intimacy we long for and, miraculously, so does he. Beverly opens our eyes to that which is unseen and alerts our ears to his silent call. If you’ve ever ached to feel the invisible God, look within. Beverly Rose shows how you can see him and touch him for yourself today—if you learn the right places to look.
